Even then the yellow thing was happening. I love the way Arches and watercolour meld together. This is nice.
I like F1 racing.

Thanks...thats old too..from early-mid 90s....in 93 Nigel won the Cart Championship, and had just taken the Formula-1 championship the year before that, so he's the only driver in history to have won an American championship while being the reigning F-1 champ too. I actually got to meet him at Laguna Seca (Monterey, Ca)and got his autograph (I collect autographs).
Fun days.

You have a great ability in art. I have seen people who paint "Things" like your cars, houses and landscapes well but suck at portraits (and vice versa). Your portraits (of people) are really very nice and lifelike. You have both mediums down very well!

I'm very flattered Kevin. Thanks.
I should practice the portrait thing more.
There are some AMAZING talents on Deviant, and in the world period. And YOUNG too!..they can draw circles around me. But I think the portrait is where I should focus. Lately I haven't been able to finish any other works without stopping to do someone's portrait.
Art is genetic in my family. My dad was REALLY REALLY very good. He was a billboard sign painter in the early 50s, and worked in every field of commercial art/printing/advertising. He was also the Duncan Yo Yo champ in the 50's too. He later worked for a company drawing stuff that is represented in what was known as a "Cut Book."
It's a book that commercial and paste-up artists use for a source of stock images representing anything from a car or airplane, to a rump-roast. You've seen them in the food pages mostly.
He was really amazing, and FAST.
His dad was also an artist too....in a huge studio doing label/crate label, and food label design at the turn of the century.
So I grew up with a comfort level being around art and artists.
He gave me many many lessons at a very young age.
I could go on all day about the family art lineage....it goes back to Holland even.
I'm Dutch.
